WalkePR worked with radio veterans Bob Hughes and Jonathan Schwartz to handle the station’s signal expansion. The goal was to own the media on that one single day. And, with a flip of a switch on Monday, October 20, 1997, San Diego’s last remaining locally-owned, locally-operated radio station added one million additional listeners.  Walke pre-arranged interviews and photography that appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Business Journal and the North County Times and the station coordinated a live, on-air conversation with the morning show disc jockeys and KUSI Morning News staff. The company also worked with the station to do a listener appreciation party.
