Spearheaded crisis communications in 2002/03 for a volunteer group called the Blue Ribbon Committee who faced an acrimonious media environment from the San Diego Chapter of the American Red Cross, who had initially created the committee. Swift and skillful media strategy and an ethical and honest approach to solving the core problems of the Red Cross, helped the Blue Ribbon Committee affect dramatic change locally and impact the National Red Cross like no other independent group in the organization’s history. This proactive approach to crisis communications marked a new beginning for community trust and was used for the better public good.

Awarded the Silver Mark of Excellence Award: Best Crisis Communications (2002).
